Alabama A&M University fans, alumni and media joined AAMU Head Football Coach Connell Maynor and his coaching staff for National Signing Day of the 2018 recruiting class. Coach Maynor had only two weeks to get 17 of the best of the best to round out the Fighting Bulldogs squad. The class features nine offensive players and eight players on defense. Sixteen of the 17 players are high school recruits while one is a junior college transfer.  The signees represent Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Virginia, Michigan, and Maryland.

Every semester, student athletes are recognized for their academic excellence. Jan 29th, 194 students athletes were recognized for their academic achievements. For their accomplishment, they were placed on the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll. These student athletes earned a 3.0 GPA or higher during the fall 2017 semester. AAMU President Dr. Andrew Hugine, Jr., Faculty Representative, Dr. Larry McDaniel and Athletic Director Brian Hicks recognized them.
