AAMU Football Welcomes 17 Signees to The Hill

Alabama A&M University fans, alumni and media joined AAMU Head Football Coach Connell Maynor and his coaching staff for National Signing Day of the 2018 recruiting class. Coach Maynor had only two weeks to get 17 of the best of the best to round out the Fighting Bulldogs squad. The class features nine offensive players and eight players on defense. Sixteen of the 17 players are high school recruits while one is a junior college transfer.  The signees represent Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Virginia, Michigan, and Maryland. 

*The Defensive Line and Coach William Carr welcome Cameron Hicks, Jacquez Parks, Elisha Jackson, and Jalen McGhee.

*The Defensive Back recruited and coached by Charles Huff is Caleb Riley.

*The Offensive Line and Coach Keith Wagner will lead Anthony Jackson and Tyreik Griffin.

*Linebackers and Coach Mark DeBastiani will direct Michael Edmonds and Richard Calloway.

*Running Backs eagerly coming to The Hill and trained by Coach Duane Taylor are Gary Quarles and Teon Dollard.

*Wide Receivers also trained by Coach Duane Taylor are Antoine “A.J.” Felton, Jr., Tyrese Chambers, Nathaniel “TANK” Dell, and Brian Jenkins, Jr.

*The much sought-after Quarterback to be led by Coach Jason Mai is Justin Cannon.

Coach Maynor and the Bulldogs will kick off the 2018 season at home against Miles College on September 1st in the Louis Crews Classic in Louis Crews Stadium and on WJAB-FM 90.9 and WJAB.ORG.

Erica “Fox” Washington hails from Davis, California. She is currently the Program Director for WJAB 90.9 and the Host of “In the Spirit” “Latin Jazz House” and “Community News from the Hill.” Ms. Washington began her radio career in 1981 while in high school. She is a proud 1988 graduate of Alabama A & M University with a degree Telecommunications and Visual Arts. She is a member of First Missionary Baptist Church; a charter member of the Huntsville Chapter of The Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC); Huntsville/Madison County Chapter of the NAACP; Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Epsilon Gamma Omega Chapter; Tau Beta Sigma Honorary Band Sorority and Alabama A & M University Marching Maroon & White Alumni Band.
